The 19th ICIS World Base Oils & Lubricants Conference

LONDON, UK. On February 20th, 2015 Suzan Jagger, President of Jagger Advisory, spoke to a distinguished audience of 400 participants in London at the 19th ICIS World Base Oil Conference. In a sharply focused presentation titled Capturing New Value in Lubricants: Preparing for the Road Ahead (request transcript below), Ms. Jagger showed that despite the challenges of a relatively flat growth trajectory for the global lubricants business in volume terms, there has been substantial value growth across the industry, and marketers continue to adapt to capture new value through new business models, portfolio up-trading, supply chain consolidations and digital marketing.

We are all starting to realize that the trajectory of volume growth in this business is flat, however we have value growth.

In fact the gross margin pool of this entire global lubricants business, spanning from base oil manufacturing operations to marketing, distribution and trade sales has increased 2.5 times over the last 15 years.  Over the same period the global lubricants sales volume has grown only 4%. Text-Bullet-Jagger-Advisory
